This has to be one of the most recommended colones to ever hit the market, and with good reason too. It has one of the most memorable and iconic scent ever. Maybe that is why it’s regarded by many fans of discontinued perfumes as a top tier designer cologne.

Issey Miyake launched L’Eau d’Issey Pour Homme Intense just two years after his women’s fragrance. He wanted to reflect the yin and yang polarities of of his already succesful woman’s fragrance. Some say he just did it to make more money but I know there was a need for creating this Miyake cologne.

One thing you shoud know about Issey Miyake Cologne is that it is an aquatic summer fragrance. That does not mean you only have to wear it during summer. It means that it works best during the summer months. This has to do with the special blend of notes and how it was designed to fit perfectly with summer.

That doesn’t mean it’s restricted to one season though. I find this cologne perfect for any occasion regardless of the season or weather and I know many people fee the same way. Perhaps that is why so many call this cologne their signature scent.

Right off the bat I’m ganna say that this colone has an insane amount of notes. There are just too many to count so it would be useless to try and name them all. There is something like six notes to each phase which can add up pretty quick.

Just know that it has a fresh scent with top notes of lemon verbena, lime, and tangerine followed by spicy mid notes of coriander, cinnamon, sage, nutmeg and saffron. Then it closes on sensual base notes of sandalwood, tobacco, vetiver and musk.

The pour homme starts off with a green tea scent that is very recognizabe. Then it begins to die down as the floral notes pic up. After that you can smell the wood base notes giving it an amazing natural forest smell.

The pour homme cologne is very masculine. You can definately tell it’s a man’s cologne yet it still has a feminine undertone. It can be worn by women aswell making it somewhat of a unisex perfume.

It was not intended for women but there are so many who have gravitated toward Issey Miyake Cologne and claimed it as their signature perfume. This interesting phenomenon brings me to my next point.

Women will always recognize this scent!

For some odd reason this has become one the most easily identifiable scents by women today. This can get kinda weird if you’re not used to  getting comments all day! That is why I stopped wearing it to places where I know there are going to be lots of women.

I don’t really want them knowing exactly what cologne I have because it makes me feel a little odd. I still wear the scent but only for special occasions like going out to clubs or on a date with a girl. That is wear this cologne shines in my opinion.

The projection is moderate on the toilette spray. What I mean by that is others will be able to smell it if they are in the same room. Only one spray is needed for normal occasions but if you wanted a farther prjection you would just need to spray some more on.

It has a cool little compounding effect that will increase the radius of the scent cloud around you if you spray it multiple times. This would be important to keep in mind if you are going to be in small rooms all day. Some people will want to limit their sprays if that is the case.

For such an amazing and unique cologne that will be a hit even 50 years from now, 35 USD is practically a steal! I almost dropped a huge turd in my pants when I found one for so cheap. It was like an early christmas gift.

I have no doubt that Issey Miyake Cologne will be remembered as the best and I can honestly recommend it for anyone looking to smell good!
